When you say LED, many people think of their televisions or the basic electronics projects they did as part of secondary or high school but few people are aware that they can not only be used but they can be used to superb effect as part of a stage show or act to give a dazzling and memorable effect which many would be proud to showcase.

That’s where my story comes in. I use RGB LED all the time for projects for my hobby of electronics and just recently, I decided to see how far I could stretch my imagination and skills and incorporate them into my artistic work too.

The Reason for RGB LED

Firstly, let’s explore why. As I’ve said, I use RBG LED’s in hobby use anyway but as I started to experiment more, I also started to wonder about using its’ many benefits in my work.

For example, LED uses a mere fraction of the power my normal lights do meaning that I could save money for a small proportion of the frequency and electricity I currently needed. Furthermore, it gets massively hot under spotlights normally but LED’s have a very low heat radiation and are able to produce the same amount of light without getting heat. Not only was I unlikely to sweat to death whilst on stage but there was no chance of burning in the event that I needed to fiddle with the bulbs.

Low Heat Radiation – Although LED stage lighting does produce heat, the fixtures produce light without getting extremely hot. Modern stage lighting lamps produce more heat (and light) than they ever have and this has been coupled with improved lantern casings to minimise the risk of burning the operator. There are, however, some environments where the low heat properties of LED stage lighting are desirable. The variations in colour that the RGB LED would afford me were also very appealing. Although RGB stands for red, blue and green and it is often assumed that it is only these colours that can be produced, there is a huge amount of choice available and I could have a full spectrum at my disposal.

This meant for me that I could have unlimited colour without the lighting taking up the room that it did before.

I’m sure that you’d agree that all of these benefits together more than justified the hours I’ve spend tinkering with the RGB LED to get the desired effect.

Controlling the Lighting

I started my experiments using a very simple system of one RGB LED and one DMX switch and as a result of the positive effect and the ease with which even I could put it together and troubleshoot if needed, I became more ambitious over time.

Now I control everything via DMX and enjoy the benefits of a fully automated and digital lightshow with no need for an assistant to stand with a remote control or a control pad to operate any changes.

The city of London offers a wide range of locations from minimalist and modern loft conversions to history country houses. Because of its versatile atmosphere, United Kingdom’s capital city has been a popular choice for all sorts of movie genres, primarily for its urban cityscapes, woodland spaces, riverside, underground tunnels, rooftop panoramic views and high-tech and futuristic office settings.

Settings of the scenes, or better known as film locations, plays a crucial role in the entire package of the movies, and most often than not, this factor can make or break a movie. Ambiance and mood aren’t just set by the performance of the actors, or the lines they through, but more importantly in the setting where the make the scene. Luckily for today’s film makers, there are lots of tours organized in leading film locations throughout the world that can provide all the aspect of a movie needs to life. Also, though it’s quite renowned for its distinctive quality, lots of places in the city has been used to double other places in the world, such as United States, Russia and many other European countries.

Booking and getting the best tour obviously depends on the destination. Since films are shot and made all over the world, there are superfluous choices and opportunities for movie fans. For die-hard movie fans, booking a tour around a favorite movie can make a trip of a lifetime.

One of the best example of film tours out there are the Harry Potter sets. Though many locations in the film are make-believe, there are tons of real-life locations that the fans of the movie franchise can easily recognize and appreciate. Most of the scenes in Harry Potter are filmed in the history sites of both England and Scotland, which obviously lives up to the level of fantasy required in the world of portrayed in the movie.

With this, lots of sightseeing adventures had been made available to the public, from the popular wizarding pub in Leaky Cauldron in Grimmauld Place, to the site of the 9 ¾ Platform in London King’s Cross railway station. These sites had been recognized as tourist spots in the city of London.

Another essential place in London that plays an important role in Harry Potter movies is the Gloucester Cathedral. The site was used as the venue for the highly celebrated Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with its broad and extensive labyrinth that students pass through while filming.

Also, the Jacobite Steam Train runs a route the same with what the Hogwarts students took through Scotland.

Of course, for a die-hard Harry Potter fan, the tour of Harry Potter London film locations wouldn’t be complete without a visit in Alnwick Castle in Northumberland, the location of the highly anticipated Quidditch matches. The castle was also used for other good movies such as O’Toole’s Becket, Redgraves’s Mary Queen of Scots and Cosner’s Robin Hood.

These London film locations bring fantasy into life for die-hard movie fans, and if you have a chance to visit London, then try to visit these exquisite sites for a magical experience.

A DJ’s role in events cannot be underestimated. Hiring a DJ is most appropriate when you are throwing a low-budget party and you cannot afford to get a live band to play. DJ’s may not be as fun to watch as live bands, but they can also put life to your party. DJ’s can interact with the audience as much as bands do. There are certain things that should be taken into account when getting a DJ.

1. Reputation – It’s a little difficult to find good DJ’s in your town. You have to listen to recommendations from friends or family. Ask people who have recently hosted parties. Before you could verify the reputation of a DJ, you have to know much about him. You can first check ads for disk jockeys in town. A DJ who can afford to promote himself is probably earning well. He’s earning well because he has a lot of clients. He probably has a website. If he’s that popular, you should be able to find him on the internet. The next thing to do is go see what his previous clients say about him.

2. Playlist – Most disc jockeys seem to play the same songs, but a lot of DJ’s specialize in certain genres. Those working at disco clubs, are able to do mixes of dance, R&B, and hip-hop beats to entertain the crowd. They do remixes of popular songs on the radio too. If you are doing a rave party, disco club DJ’s can get the crowd grooving all night long. There also DJ’s that specialize in special and formal occasions that do not require heavy dancing. However, you could find versatile disc jockeys that have a wide range of music and can play on any event. It’s worth to ask DJ what kind of music he is comfortable playing. His playlist would speak for himself though.

3. Experience – Someone said that it’s rude to first ask a DJ about how much he’s charging. A DJ cannot possibly give cost details unless you have talked together about the details of the party. Before you could ask about his charges, know about his experience first. How long has he been playing music on events? What kinds of events does he usually provide services for? A seasoned DJ can provide you a good list of tracks that can be well played on the event you specify.

4. Equipment – Disc jockeys do not ask clients for equipment. They bring their own equipment to the place. Typical DJ equipment includes sound system and disco lighting. The sound system includes a player (or a PC with a playlist), mixer, amplifier, huge speakers, and cables. The quality of the equipment partly determines the reputation of the DJ. The best DJ’s in town use sophisticated equipment that produces high quality sound. No matter how great the songs are, if the equipment is old and worn out, the party experience may turn out dreary.

5. Price – Finally, you have to ask about the price of his services. Keep in mind that if you go for top disc jockeys in town, you have to prepare for higher than average service costs. Get a DJ that offers reasonable service cost—not one that offers the lowest price.

Although I have not seen any vampire movie does, I sat down with some real turnips. Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter may seem interesting. You might even have been interesting if not for their strange and pure musical numbers (yes, you heard me). The vampire movie I’ve ever had was to turn off the jugular of wine, after only fifteen minutes. It was a masquerade independent video shot in a real movie.
After writing my thesis on the history of vampire films, I felt obliged to choose the top ten. My criteria for choosing these films were based on three points: the ability repeated clock, artistic qualities, and humor. Multiple clock include items such as dialogue, action and creepiness general. Artistic qualities include cinematography, set design and costumes, and direction. I think humor is eloquent.

Son of Dracula : Why put a series of Dracula (the third in a series Universal) with the unfathomable Lon Chaney Jr. as Dracula on a list of vampire movies? The short answer is that it stops with me. Take Dr. Brewster, who sticks his nose where it does not belong, because only an American can do. There is also a very physical Dracula, who strangled his opponents. The special effects are well done for 1940. Dracula turns into a mist and a bat, and also dissolves when the sun rises (the first screen from Nosferatu).
Blacula : Ok, I know that this was part of the Blaxploitation films of 1970 and the Time Capsule that time you could not do better. This is one of the film, where vampires walk the Cape to attract attention. Surprisingly, Blacula is a lot to offer a vampire movie. William Marshall, brings depth to his role as Mamuwalde, African prince, who was imprisoned in a coffin with Dracula. His original love, LUVA, has re-emerged as Tina. His desire is genuine as his lyrics like “I live once more, to lose it twice.” Finally, when Tina is devastated, Blacula decides to kill himself, staggering sunlight and dissolution. Once past the camp factor, Blacula is much more to offer than a vampire movie.

Return of the Vampire : This film marks a return to the role of Bela Lugosi vampire Armand Tesla. Werewolf servant, who has become a cliché Halloween tradition was to start in this film, Obry Andreas, played by Matt Willis. He redeemed himself to the end, pulling the hapless vampire to sunlight, which strangely does not kill him. Tesla appears only in the daylight astonish. Andrew drives a second peak in his chest causing the vampire to melt, the special effects simply gruesome in its day.

Underworld : Guns, vampires, werewolves, and tight leather outfits. How could you lose? Underworld takes the artistic direction of the Matrix, and the eye is Mafia-style action film. Starring Bill Night as the vampire leader, Victor, adding a little ‘spirited (it was Davy Jones Pirates). The original concept for the film was a remake of Romeo and Juliet, only the werewolves and vampires. If you unzip the sappy romance, and add the teeth is Tybalt, you get Underworld.

Fright Night : Campy vampire movie of deaths in the mid-1980. That said, it also revived the vampire genre. What works about this film is that writer-director Tom Holland did his homework. The main character, Charley Brewster is a name borrowed from Son of Dracula. Although the actress and Vampire Hunter, Peter Vincent, is a combination of Vincent Price, Peter Cushing (Horror of Dracula see below). Peter Vincent is special because she is terrified of vampires and a coward with most of the film. While the vampire Jerry Dandrige, he is madly in by Chris Sarandon, landscapes, food, and the number of apples. You need to forget 1980 and put on a sad and compulsory dance.

Horror of Dracula : This was the first color film and produced eight other Dracula. We have seen a couple of players who became famous independently by Peter Cushing is Van Helsing and Christopher Lee as Dracula. Hammer Films has taken advantage of the full Technicolor with fangs dripping, eyes bloodshot. Studio has acquired the rights to Universal for as long as they do not use any trademark or graph shows the film’s original Dracula. The result is a story a bit ‘random set in Germany. Face to face final two enemies, Peter Cushing cut two feet from the lamp when you drive Dracula crucified in broad daylight. Classic move now part of the tradition vampire.
